Questions & Answers
Why can't I just create a nonprofit on my own?
You can certainly do this on your own, but inside this program you'll have a live experienced guide to reduce confusion and save you time.
Does this program provide legal assistance?
No, it doesn't.
It provides training and coaching to help you make practical decisions as you develop your nonprofit and its startup paperwork. To be sure to comply with and take advantage of your state's laws, your paperwork will need a legal review--which I repeat throughout the program.
Should I enroll if I'm not quite ready to start a nonprofit?
This is an implementation program. So it isn't meant to be a spectator event.
Of course, you can enroll and work through the program even if you're not ready to create a nonprofit, since you can file your paperwork later when you're ready. But don't enroll unless you're ready to put in the work.
Why shouldn't I just use an online legal service?
You won't get an argument from me; you can use that option if that works for you. But consider that a legal service will likely give you a checklist to fill out so they can prepare your paperwork. They can make sure your paperwork meets the legal requirements, but they probably can't coach you through the answers to some of their questionnaire questions.
Answers to some of those important questions are not legal matters. And we address those startup decisions in this program.
How long will it take to create a nonprofit?
There's no single answer. During the program, you should be able to prepare and file your incorporation paperwork. You'll need the state's approval before you file the remaining paperwork.
While you wait for state approval, you can complete the other state & federal documents. So in our 5 weeks together, you can complete your paperwork and learn how to file any remaining documents.
