Nonprofit Founders' Circle Membership
Terms of Purchase and Service

Please read these Terms and keep a copy for your records. By enrolling in this program, you agree to accept and abide by these Terms.

Definitions

In this document "Terms of Purchase and Service" may be referred to as "Terms." Nonprofit Startup Academy and "we" and "our" may be used interchangeably. The Nonprofit Founders Circle may be referred to as "the program." And "you" refers to the individual who is purchasing membership in the Nonprofit Founders Circle.

Disclaimer

Nonprofit Startup Academy offers this program in good faith. We believe you will have positive results if you learn the lessons provided, take advantage of the program's coaching and co-working days, and do the work.

However, we can't control the way you use this information, the skills you bring to the program, or events that might occur with the state or federal government. So Nonprofit Startup Academy does not guarantee that you'll get any specific result during or after completion of this program.

Our Relationship

This program is educational and offers information and practical tools to teach you about creating and leading a U.S. charitable nonprofit. You'll receive coaching, sample documents, and other tools to help simplify your decision-making and your work.

However, your membership in the Nonprofit Founders Circle does not create a consultant/client relationship between us.

In addition, nothing presented inside this program is intended to be accounting or legal advice. Please contact accounting or legal professionals for specific advice in those areas.

Your Responsibility

You'll hear examples about other organizations and potential ways to handle various situations as you create a charitable nonprofit. While we hope you learn from these, you should not rely solely on them to make decisions for your organization. ALWAYS do your own due diligence to make the best decisions for yourself and for your organization.

Nonprofit Founders Circle is a support program, rather than a done-for-you service. By enrolling in the Nonprofit Founders Circle, you agree that the program’s coach expects you to watch or listen to the lessons, take advantage of the live coaching and co-working sessions, ask questions, and take consistent action in order to implement the things you learn. The program can support you only if you're an active participant.

Refund Policy

Not every program is a good fit for everyone who enrolls. We hope you'll be happy with your decision to enroll in the Nonprofit Founders Circle. But if, within 15 days of your initial enrollment date or the program start date--whichever is later--you decide that the program is the wrong fit for you, you may request and receive a refund of your enrollment fee if you follow the procedure below:

  • Timing: Submit your refund request no later than 11:59 pm Pacific time, on the 15th day of your enrollment or on the 15th day of the program, whichever is later.
  • The Form: Send us your request by completing and submitting the Refund Request Form at this link: https://www.nonprofitstartupacademy.com/founders-circle-refund-req.
Immediately after you submit the refund request form, you should see a page that acknowledges your request. Email confirmation will follow in just a few minutes.

We'll cancel your enrollment and ask the credit card processor to refund your payment. If you used PayPal, you’ll have to cancel the recurring payments through PayPal.

Cancellation

No refunds will be granted after the refund period described above has passed.

Program membership is monthly to allow you to work at your own pace without a long-term financial commitment or constant time pressure. So you may cancel your membership whenever you wish. Immediately after you cancel, you will lose access to the program website, live events, and the private community.

You can save or bookmark this page and use the form at the bottom to submit a cancellation request.

Single Membership

You acknowledge and agree that your membership is a single membership which entitles you and only you to receive all program benefits. You agree that you will not share your login information or proprietary program materials with anyone else, with the following exception:  Your startup team will be invited to participate in some leadership development sessions as a program benefit, and so you may share program documents (but not login credentials) with them.

Future Changes

You acknowledge that we may change what we offer inside The Nonprofit Founders Circle in the future. We will notify you about major changes before they take effect.

Indemnification

You agree that the resources provided in this program are offered in good faith to individuals who wish to create and lead charitable organizations in the United States. You agree to not hold Nonprofit Startup Academy or any of its agents responsible for any expenses or losses that occur as a result of your efforts to launch or lead an organization.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between you and Nonprofit Startup Academy, you agree to work with us for up to 30 days to resolve the matter.

Further, you agree that any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, or the breach of these Terms that we cannot resolve within 30 days, shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules. LaCharla Figgs or her representative will arrange for arbitration in such a case.

Judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction over the matter under dispute.

State of Maryland

The provisions of these Terms of Purchase and Service shall be construed under the laws of the State of Maryland.

Terms Remain In Force

If we should waive or fail to enforce one or more of these Terms, any such waiver or failure will not nullify any portion of these Terms of Purchase and Service.

Sole Agreement

We agree to provide Nonprofit Founders Circle members with continual access to the Nonprofit Founders Circle website, live events Q&A, and a private community so long as those members remain paid members in compliance with program rules (such as conduct in the private community) and the program is still operating. The exception to this is that Nonprofit Startup Academy can change the programming at any time with at least 30 days' notice to all members.

This is our sole agreement with you, and you agree that, regardless of anything you may have heard, read, or assumed, these benefits are the only ones the Nonprofit Founders Circle is obligated to provide to its members.

We may provide other resources and experiences, but they are considered bonuses that we provide at our discretion.
